Morning has broken on a new Thanksgiving Day. Giving thanks over & over for the chance to give and to receive, to help and to be helped, to care and to be cared for. May this day bring renewed gratitude, grace and joy into all our lives.
“Your hand opens & closes and opens & closes.
If it were always a fist or always stretched open, you would be paralyzed.
Your deepest presence is in every small contracting and expanding;
The two as beautifully balanced and coordinated as bird wings.” ~ RUMI
“When I give, I give myself.” ~ WALT WHITMAN
“I believe in all that has never yet been spoken.
I want to free what waits within me ~ that what no one has dared to wish for may for once spring clear without my contriving…”
~ Rainier Maria Rilke
” ..in these swelling and ebbing currents, these deepening tides moving out, returning…” (Rilke)
“…I will sing you as no one ever has, streaming through widening channels into the open sea.” (Rilke)
Breathe ~ Listen ~ Behold ~ within each other, the air & sea, cloud & leaf, & “all that has never been spoken”.
November arrives. Light fades and transforms, transfigures, recedes and embraces.
