Silence amidst storms

Oct. storm    There is a community of spirit…..

Open your hands

if you want to be held.

Sit down in this circle….

Move outside the tangle of fear-thinking.

Live in silence……

in always widening rings of being.

Observe the wonders as they occur around you.

Don’t claim them. Feel the artistry

moving through, and be silent.        ~ RUMI

As the seasons change, so our lives of sentient being move and transition, search and rest. Such turbulence in the season’s storms, the winds and water. Yet our observance, in a state of wonder, is breathlessly, vibrantly…silent.

Noting our own passions released in bending trees, surging striking waves, enveloping fog and the insistent sporadic knocking of the rain on our heart-home-shelter,….there we may find some rarity of soul, of community of spirit. There ~ in silence amidst the storms ~ I remember the powerful light of summer.

Poignant Lingering Season ~ October 1, 2012

We create ourselves by our choices. ~ Kierkegaard

Write. Say it! Begin a new conversation, or renew an old unfinished, unanswered dialogue. Speak up! Communicate truth, clarity, questions and wisdom.

October…fall season of remembrance, of lingering memory of warmth and summer freedom. Observe and absorb the natural evolving cycle of growth and dormancy, of golden, rich-hued changing forest & garden, of glowing wind-worn light glancing off sand, sea and leaf, enriching us in its ever turning embrace.

Here, today, October 1st~ remember and hold the light within. What new hopes have we found? Does this moment, returning again to haunt and to challenge, bring a choice or a loss? Do we learn, accept this wondrous gift of a poignant season? Here, for all of us, to gather the strength to write, to say it, to speak, to finally begin again that lingering, hopeful conversation.
